KCC to host Eastern Calhoun County Job Fair April 17 in Albion

Kellogg Community College is hosting an Eastern Calhoun County Job Fair this month at the College’s Easter Academic Center campus in Albion.

KCC’s Eastern Calhoun County Job Fair will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the EAC, located at 14055 26 Mile Road in Albion, just off of I-94. The event is free and open to the public and will include representation from more than a dozen area employers and community partners in fields including health care, hospitality, manufacturing and the skilled trades.

Participating organizations include KCC, as well as:

  • The Albion Economic Development Corporation
  • Bronson Battle Creek Hospital
  • Caster Concepts
  • City of Albion
  • Comcast Urethane
  • DENSO
  • FireKeepers Casino and Hotel
  • Iron Workers local 25
  • IBEW 445
  • Marshall Excelsior Company
  • Medler Electric Company
  • Oaklawn Hospital

The job fair also overlaps with a Food Truck Event at the EAC the same day, when the On the Roll food truck will be onsite from noon to 3 p.m. offering a full menu on sale to attendees and the general public. KCC students will get a $5 off discount on their meal with their KCC ID.

Preceding these events are free resume preparation workshops at the EAC, including:

  • A KCC Student Resume Workshop from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, hosted by KCC Career Services
  • A Community Resume Workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, hosted by Michigan Works! Southwest

In addition to KCC, the job fair is sponsored by the Albion Economic Development Corporation, Choose Marshall, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and Michigan Works! Southwest.

The job fair at the EAC precedes the DoubleTree by Hilton Battle Creek Open House event running from 4 to 7 p.m. the same day on KCC’s main campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. That event is also free and open to the public, with opportunities to learn about jobs and specialized training available with area partners.
