KCC wins Large Business of the Year award

Kellogg Community College is pleased to announce that the College was awarded the 2024 Large Business of the Year Award at the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Excellence Awards ceremony in April.

The Large Business of the Year Award celebrates the success of one large business (more than 100 employees) and honors its contributions to the growth and diversity of the greater Battle Creek economy, recognizing the business for exemplifying a spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship and individual initiatives.

“Kellogg Community College exemplifies the pinnacle of business excellence, earning the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce 2024 Large Business of the Year Award through its unparalleled commitment to growth, strategic vision and unwavering dedication to community engagement,” Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kara Beer said. “By fostering meaningful relationships with customers and employees alike, and pioneering innovative strategies, KCC sets a standard of excellence that resonates far beyond its campus walls, enriching both education and enterprise in our community.”

Other nominees in the Large Business of the Year category were FireKeepers Casino Hotel, Kellanova, TC Transcontinental, the University of Olivet and WK Kellogg Co.

About the Business Excellence Awards

Since 1999, the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce has presented awards that recognize businesses, nonprofits and organizations for outstanding contributions to the community and local economy. Nominations are accepted from Chamber membership and the community at large beginning in January in each of 10 award categories, with nominees judged by an anonymous committee of peers from across the United States. This year’s judges hailed from Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia, in addition to Michigan.
