KCC releases fall Lifelong Learning schedule

Kellogg Community College’s fall schedule of Lifelong Learning classes for community members is available now, including more than 70 classes offered for personal enrichment. 

Interested individuals can view the schedule now online at kellogg.edu/lifelong; those who sign up by Sept. 16 will get an Early Bird Discount of 10% off the registration fee with the code EBFA24. 

This fall’s schedule includes dozens of personal-enrichment classes across categories including arts and crafts; finance; fitness; food and cooking; gardening; history; holistic; personal interest; technology and computers; and more, including popular favorites as well as brand-new classes.  

New classes offered this fall include: 

  • Amish and Mennonite Neighbors 
  • Character Drawing Workshop (taught by “Blaze Goes to College” illustrator Sara Parks) 
  • Charms for Prosperity 
  • Explore the Wild: Land Navigation Workshop 
  • From Bean to Brew 
  • Golf Basics: Stay Hot This Winter and Be Ready for Spring 
  • Homemade Halloween Candy 
  • Morning Tea with Maggie 
  • Seed Saving 
  • “Tree”mendous Trees 
  • Unraveling the Tapestry of Scandinavian History 
  • Windowsill Gardening: Microgreens and Sprouts 

Also new this fall are English Language Learning offerings at KCC’s Grahl Center campus in Coldwater, located at 125 Seeley St. 

In addition to traditional Lifelong Learning classes, the schedule also offers: 

  • On-demand one-on-one computer classes focused on a topic of the student’s choice, intentionally designed for participants whose schedules don’t allow time for regularly scheduled class periods. 
  • Two group field trips, including a trip to Shipshewana in September and a trip to explore Detroit architecture in October.  

For those who want to learn from the comfort of home, the Lifelong Learning Department also offers online classes across more than 300 topics through online education provider ed2go. 

In-person Lifelong Learning classes will be held on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek; at the College’s regional Fehsenfeld Center campus, located at 2950 West M-179 Highway in Hastings; or at the Grahl Center campus in Coldwater. Additional classes may be located offsite, as indicated in the class description in the schedule. 

Registration 

Registration for all Lifelong Learning classes and activities can be completed entirely online on the Lifelong Learning website at kellogg.edu/lifelong. Registration can also be completed: 

  • By phone by calling KCC’s Lifelong Learning Department at 269-965-4134 and registering with a credit or debit card 
  • In person at the Lifelong Learning office in Room 305 of the Lane-Thomas Building on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek
