Several years ago, I completed some executive (innovative engineering) training at the Eureka! Ranch and was fortunate enough to be taught by Doug Hall, the founder. Among several words of wisdom shared, he said, “If you’re not meaningfully unique, you better be cheap. But it is always preferable to be both.”
Indeed, as you learn about us at Kellogg Community College, you will find that we are very affordable when compared to our peers. Our tuition rates are listed in the bottom 50th percentile when our costs are compared to all Michigan community colleges AND are ranked sixth out of the seven Michigan community colleges that are most like us (per data last collected in Fall 2023). It is one of the few times that you want to be ranked lower!
Our Board of Trustees continues to make decisions that enable a KCC education to be financially accessible to all constituents.
Additionally, as you delve into our ethos, you will find that we believe in our students and seek to assist them in getting to their own finish line, i.e., completion of a certificate, training or degree.
We strive to provide a very personal approach to their educational journey. Your instructor will know your name, in addition to that staff member who assisted you. You will be taught by highly qualified individuals in your chosen field of study, in classrooms and simulation centers that rival the best in the state, and in physical spaces that are award-winning for their beauty and sustainability. And, with dedication and resilience, you might also work and play alongside your peers on teams that achieve national (academic and non-academic) rankings and postseason awards.
We are fortunate to be recognized by external rankings such as WalletHub, that showcase our ability to be meaningfully unique as noted by our state (No. 1) and national (No. 21) rankings. We are thankful for those opportunities to showcase what our community and alumni have known for quite some time.
