Kellogg Community College is seeking applicants for a nine-week Entrepreneurship Bootcamp small-business training program starting in February, offered at no cost for Battle Creek residents who meet income guidelines.

The training program, offered through KCC’s Innovative Accelerated Credentialed Training (iACT) initiative, will run from 1:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays from Feb. 17 through April 24. The training will be held at New Level Sports Ministries, located at 400 W. Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek.

KCC’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp will teach students the knowledge and skills necessary to start and run a successful small business. Coursework includes strategies for market research; creating and presenting a business plan; and identifying funding resources and assets. Integrated Workplace Success classes will focus on professionalism, communication, problem-solving and teamwork.

The training program also includes:

  • Career coaches to help with goal setting, academic advising, barrier removal and job placement
  • Financial literacy training
  • Resume and job-interview training

Entrepreneurship Bootcamp students will also have the opportunity to earn the WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification credential through their training.
