Kellogg Community College’s lead print shop specialist has been inducted into the hall of fame of a national industry organization dedicated to print operations at educational institutions across the U.S.
June Lewis, senior process specialist in KCC’s on-campus Print and Document Services Department, was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Association of College and University Printers + K-12 (ACUP+) during the ACUP+ Awards Gala April 2 in Costa Mesa, California.
ACUP+ is a national organization that promotes and establishes communication and professional development opportunities for educational employees who work in in-plant print and mail operations. The ACUP+ Hall of Fame honors, “In-plant managers who exemplify the highest standards of service to their institutions along with contributions the ACUP+ organization and the in-plant community as a whole,” according to the organization.
Lewis is just the 16th inductee in ACUP+ Hall of Fame history.
Lewis has held several positions within the organization over the years and currently serves as secretary for the Board of Directors, as liaison for the Governance Committee and as a member of the Finance Committee. Her previous positions include member-at-large and treasurer of the Board, and memberships on the Education Committee and Membership Committee.
Lewis has more than 40 years of print and production experience, beginning at the end of her junior year in high school after taking a graphic design/printing class at the local career center. She has worked in KCC’s Print and Document Services Department since October 2003, helping to bring the College’s in-plant print shop up to current technology levels and implementing time-saving processes to improve department workflow.
She’s also a KCC alumna, holding an Associate of Applied Science degree from KCC.
