Nursing student Kiara Gilchrest “immensely grateful” for Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Promise Scholarship

Kiara Gilchrest

The following is a testimonial from Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club Promise Scholarship recipient and KCC Nursing student Kiara Gilchrest:

“Receiving a Promise Scholarship has been an invaluable financial resource in my pursuit of a Nursing degree at KCC.

“Nursing programs usually come with significant expenses, such as scrubs, textbooks, clinical supplies and certifications. This scholarship has alleviated much of the financial stress and allowed me to focus fully on my studies and clinical training.

“It is more than just a scholarship to me. It is a reminder that my dreams are worth pursuing.

“Beyond tuition, my scholarship helped cover essential materials necessary for my success in the program. Those expenses can quickly add up. However, with the help of the scholarship I can access them. This has made a significant difference in my ability to engage fully in learning and gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for future work.

“The thought of every skill I practice being someone’s investment in my future gives me an additional source of motivation, which I am immensely grateful for.

“Furthermore, the scholarship has reduced the need for me to work long hours to support myself during my studies. While I value hard work, balancing a demanding Nursing Program with a part-time job can be overwhelming and stressful.

“Thanks to the scholarship, I have been able to dedicate more time to my education and extracurricular opportunities that enhance my skills. This support has given me the confidence, stability, as well as resilience, to excel in my program and become a skilled professional.”
