Kellogg Community College is offering nine day camps for youth this summer at the College’s Fehsenfeld Center campus in Hastings.
The Fehsenfeld Center is located at 2950 West M-179 Highway just minutes from downtown Hastings. Camp registration can be completed entirely online at kellogg.edu/youth.
Youth summer day camps offered in Hastings this summer include the following.
Make It & Take It: Fidgets, Poppers & Spinners Camp
Ages 8-14, $40, 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 19
What could be cooler than the fidgets, poppers and spinners you buy at the store? DIY fidgets, poppers and spinners, of course! We’ll create a variety of fidgets in this camp, including fidget keyrings, water snake fidgets, stress balls, marshmallow poppers, bouncy balls and wooden infinity cubes. When we’re done, you get to take all your fidget creations home!
Summer Sweet Treats: A No-Bake Experience!
Ages 8-14, $35, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 23
Get ready to whip up a world of deliciousness in our classroom confectionary! Join Miss Boo as she guides you through creating an irresistible lineup of no-bake summer sweets. From creamy confections to fruity delights, you’ll learn to craft treats that are as fun to make as they are to eat. The cherry on top? You get to take all your tasty creations home to share – or keep them all to yourself! Sweet fun, zero oven required!
Safe Sitter: Skills for Babysitting & Staying Home Alone
Ages 12-18, $80, 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, June 25-26
Ready to take on the responsibilities of staying home alone or babysitting younger family members? This camp is your ultimate guide to becoming a confident and capable caregiver!
Learn essential skills to keep yourself and others safe, from handling emergencies like power outages and severe weather to preventing unsafe situations before they happen. You’ll also discover tips for managing behavior, explore the ages and stages of child development and even get hands-on practice with diapering.
We’ll cover everything you need to know about screening babysitting jobs, setting fees and being a responsible and considerate caregiver. At the end of camp, you’ll receive:
- A certificate of completion
- A babysitting toolkit
- Lifelong skills to care for yourself and others safely
Whether you’re babysitting for family, friends or neighbors, you’ll leave this camp ready to handle the job like a pro!
CPR & First Aid: Be the Hero in an Emergency!
Ages 12-18, $80, 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, July 7
Are you a babysitter (or hoping to become one)? A dedicated Boy or Girl Scout ready to earn a life-saving badge? Or just someone who wants to be prepared when it matters most? Then this action-packed, hands-on camp is for you!
Led by expert KCC EMS instructors, this American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid & CPR camp will equip you with essential skills to respond to medical emergencies with confidence. You’ll learn:
- CPR techniques for infants, children and adults
- How to assist someone who is choking
- First aid treatments for injuries, medical conditions and environmental emergencies
- How to train using state-of-the-art medical equipment
At the end of camp, you’ll walk away with lifesaving skills AND an official AHA Certificate of Completion – because heroes aren’t born, they’re trained!
A Day in the Life: Emergency Medical Services & Allied Health Camp
Ages 13-18, $25, 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 8
Do you have a passion for helping others and the courage to thrive under pressure? Step into the fast-paced world of emergency medical services and allied health with this hands-on, immersive camp!
Experience the adrenaline and teamwork of being a paramedic or EMT while also exploring the critical roles of allied health professionals who support patient care behind the scenes and on the front lines.
This “day in the life” adventure will give you a firsthand look at what it takes to save lives in high-stakes situations and support patient care across the health care field. If you’re ready for an exciting challenge and a chance to explore a heroic career path, this camp is for you!

Ages 8-14, $40, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 15
Let your creativity bloom in this hands-on craft camp where nature and imagination come together! Design your own enchanting fairy garden, complete with tiny plants, whimsical decorations and magical touches. Explore fun nature-inspired crafts using natural materials like flowers, stones and wood to create beautiful and unique projects. Whether you love gardening, crafting or just making something magical, this camp is the perfect place to let your imagination grow!
ROCK Stars: Geology 101
Ages 10-14, $30, 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 17
Dive into the exciting world of geology in this hands-on, interactive summer camp! Explore the secrets of Earth’s rocks, minerals and crystals while having a blast. Grow dazzling salt crystals, crack open mysterious geodes and get up close with stunning specimens. From digging deep to discovering treasures, this camp is sure to be a rock-solid hit!
A Day in the Life: Skilled Trades
Ages 13-18, $35, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 21-24
Do you love working with your hands, solving problems and figuring out how things work? This immersive camp is your chance to roll up your sleeves and explore the exciting world of skilled trades!
Spend time at KCC’s Fehsenfeld Center, where you’ll get hands-on experience in high-demand industries, learn from professionals, work with real tools and equipment and discover whether building, fixing and creating could be the perfect path for your future.
Try your hand at essential trade skills, experience real-world projects and problem-solving and learn from industry experts in a hands-on environment. Get ready to build your skills and explore a career that keeps the world running!
Lunch will be provided each day. Students must follow the camp dress code for safety and participation.

Cookies & Canvas: Beach Breezes & Sky-High Scenes!
Ages 6-10, $35, 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 23
Get ready for a sweet and colorful adventure! In this fun-filled painting camp, you will create two stunning masterpieces, one inspired by the beach’s serene beauty and another featuring a whimsical hot-air balloon soaring through the sky! Enjoy delicious cookies while you create, because every great artist needs a snack break! Just bring your creativity and we’ll provide the rest!
