Butcher will again be joined on the field this year by assistant coaches Hunter Garland and Maggie Harma, with new Assistant Coach Alexandra Egnatuck joining on the staff on the sidelines.

Butcher said the team is excited to head into the 2025 season with a squad he thinks can compete for another Region XII title.

“That said, we know that winning three in a row is a difficult task,” Butcher said. “We are confident in our sophomores’ ability to pick up right where they left off last season. Our incoming class is a good one top to bottom with players who are talented, versatile and will fit in well with our group. Above all, we are looking forward to seeing this group come together and take on the rigors that the season throws at them.”

The Bruins open the season with a home scrimmage against Adrian College starting at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19. The team’s first home match will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, against Marian University’s conference opponent Ancilla College on campus in Battle Creek.

Admission to all home matches at KCC is free.

The women’s soccer team last year won the College’s second women’s soccer regional championship and first back-to-back regional championship win in College history. The team finished the season in the Great Lakes District final for the second consecutive year and hosted the game for the first time in program history. The Bruins finished with a 4-3 conference record and a 10-5-2 record overall.
