Murder, mayhem and music return to the Binda Performing Arts Center stage this year as Kellogg Community College Theatre prepares to bring two mainstage theatre productions and two student showcases to audiences in Battle Creek.
KCC Theatre’s fall production is “Rehearsal for Murder,” a murder-mystery adapted from a made-for-TV movie that originally aired in the early 1980s. The plot centers on a play within a play in which a playwright tries to prove his lover, an actress, was murdered.
“Rehearsal for Murder” auditions – open to students and community members alike – will be held Oct 2 and 3. The show will run Nov. 14-16 and 21-23.
KCC Theatre will present the comedic musical “Disaster!” this spring. The play is a “jukebox musical” with a score of popular 1970s hits and is an homage to 1970s disaster movies.
“Disaster!” auditions – also open to students and community members alike – will be held Dec. 4 and 5. The show will run March 6-8 and 13-15.
Additionally, returning each semester will be the College’s popular “Mich Mash” performances, in which current KCC Theatre students present 60 short plays in 60 minutes.
The fall semester “Mich Mash” will be held Dec. 12 and the spring semester “Mich Mash” will be held May 8.
