The Kellogg Community College Foundation is proud to announce 30 recipients of 2025-26 transfer scholarships, totaling up to $211,760 in funding for the graduating KCC students for the current academic year.
Scholarship amounts and requirements vary by scholarship. Applications received by the KCC Foundation and reviewed by committee.
“KCC students put in tremendous effort to achieve their goals, and these scholarships highlight both their commitment and the generosity of our donors,” said Michelle Williamson, executive director of the KCC Foundation. “KCC is proud to be one of the few community colleges that offer support for transfer scholarships. By helping students continue their education beyond KCC, these scholarships not only transform individual lives but also strengthen the communities our graduates go on to serve.”
The Lindsay B. Draime Transfer Scholarship for Business Students is a $5,000 scholarship and is renewable for a second year. The Draime Transfer Scholarship was awarded to:
- Lance Gordon-Badillo, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in business
The Walter and Lucille Harper Transfer Scholarship varies from $1,000 to $7,000 and is renewable for a second year. The Harper Transfer Scholarship was awarded to:
- Abrar Ahmed, of Coldwater, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in psychology
- Joyce Benne, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Eastern Michigan University with plans to major in international affairs
- Hannah Boulanger, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Michigan State University with plans to major in zoology
- Aiden Bunnell, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Michigan State University with plans to major in video game design
- Madison Cole, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Michigan State University with plans to major in animal science/zoology
- Jessie Cummins, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in health care
- Kate Doyle, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Grand Valley State University with plans to major in diagnostic medical sonography
- Zara Franklin, of Hastings, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in psychology
- Cassandra Keese, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Ferris State University with plans to major in health care
- Alexis Leet, of Hastings, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in social work
- Oliwia Luniewska, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in global and international studies
- Brody McKerchie, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to double major in sports management and coaching
- Stephanie O’Connor, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Central Michigan University with plans to major in education
- Alexander Steward, of Hastings, who will be attending Ferris State University with plans to major in cybersecurity
- Verenise Vazquez-Ortiz, of Battle Creek, who will be attending the University of Michigan with plans to major in health care
The Virginia M. Hensley Transfer Scholarship is a $17,350 scholarship and is renewable for a second year. The Hensley Transfer Scholarship was awarded to:
- Taylor Peters, of Olivet, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in education
- Sophia Saunders, of Battle Creek, who is attending Michigan State University majoring in psychology
The Robert F. Hites Transfer Scholarship is a $3,000 scholarship and is renewable for a second year. The Hites Transfer Scholarship was awarded to:
- Britain Broderick, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Siena Heights University and plans to major in exercise science
The Spanninga Family Transfer Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship held at the Battle Creek Community Foundation that is renewable for a second year. The Spanninga Transfer Scholarship was awarded to:
- Jassan Baker, of Battle Creek, who will be attending the University of Michigan with plans to major in Japanese studies, history or cognitive science
- Eli Banko, of Charlotte, who will be attending Grand Valley State University with plans to major in health care
- Amelia Bills, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Grand Valley State University with plans to major in health care.
- Alita Elliott, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in human services
- Jason Kern, of Marshall, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in film studies
- Ariana Kincaid, of Union City, who will be attending Grand Valley State University with plans to major in international relations
- Paige Shepherd, of Wayland, who will be attending the University of Michigan with plans to major in social work
- Conner Vogel, of Springfield, who will be attending Grand Valley State University with plans to major in sports management
- Jenna Vogel, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Michigan State University with plans to major in animal science/nutrition
- Kayla Vogel, of Springfield, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in social work
- Jasmine Williams, of Battle Creek, who will be attending Western Michigan University with plans to major in psychology
