Kellogg Community College’s Bruin Youth Programming initiative set a new record this summer with 1,258 registrations across 70 day camps held on campuses in Battle Creek, Coldwater and Hastings.
Camps covered a wide range of interests, from STEM and career “day in the life” experiences in health care and skilled trades to programs in the arts, athletics and more.
Highlights included nearly 900 community members attending Youth Theatre Camp performances of “Shrek the Musical” (pictured above) in August, presented in partnership with Battle Creek’s Unity Theatre Company. KCC student athletes also helped lead youth sports camps, raising $18,480 for their teams in the process.
The camps continue to inspire future Bruins, with more than 200 former campers enrolled at KCC during the recent Spring 2025 semester.
