Kellogg Community College in April 2024 received Higher Learning Commission approval to offer college-level instruction to inmates as part of a Prison Education Program at Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater.
KCC has since offered select courses at the facility to 28 students working toward their Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management.
This spring, all of the PEP students had a GPA higher than 3.0, including one with a perfect President’s List 4.0, 19 who made the Dean’s List with a GPA between 3.5 and 3.9 and eight who made the Successful Progress List with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.49.
This summer, 15 made the President’s List, eight made the Dean’s List and four made the Successful Progress List.
