Kellogg Community College Agricultural Science student Patrick Priesman III, 18, of Bellevue, is a 2025 graduate of Olivet High School, a Gold Key Scholar and a member KCC’s Alpha Nu Eta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Why did you choose your major/area of study?
The reason I chose this area of study is because I want to gain knowledge so I can bring new ideas back to our family farm. I would like to gain knowledge on better grain marketing skills and farm management to help maximize the efficiency of the farm.
Why did you choose to study your major specifically at KCC?
The reason I chose to study at KCC was because it was close to my house. I also heard that it was a very good program and I could learn a lot.
What’s been your favorite part of your time at KCC, and why?
My favorite part at KCC is being able to meet so many new people and see the different backgrounds everyone is going into and the paths they are taking.
What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned at KCC?
The most interesting thing I have learned at KCC is all the different opportunities there are for every individual to succeed.
What is your goal for after you graduate from KCC? What do you hope to do for a career?
My goal after I graduate at KCC is to keep growing my excavation company and also continue working on the family farm. I would like to continue getting more ground and grow the amount of acres we farm and also maximize the production so the farm can be as efficient as possible.
What advice do you have for current or future KCC students?
My advice for a current or future KCC student is to ask for help. There are plenty of people throughout the school who are willing to help you in anything you need. This could be if you have trouble logging in on your computers, or for a class you are taking or if you are having trouble with financial aid. KCC can provide you with all the help you need.
