Kellogg Community College is offering a free paid training program in Albion and Battle Creek in March to teach participants skills for careers in electrical and manufacturing industries, including electric vehicle production.
KCC’s new Electrical Production Operator Training Program is offered through the College’s Kellogg Advanced Manufacturing Industry 4.0 initiative designed to upskill Michigan’s workforce, funded via a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Participants will receive training in electrical fundamentals and professional and workplace skills, as well as math instruction specific to the industrial trades. Participants will also receive structured support and coaching throughout the program, including resume and interview assistance and other job-readiness preparation services. Those who complete the training will also receive OSHA 30 certification through the program.
Additionally, participants will receive a weekly stipend as well as support to address any barriers to participating in the training, including transportation assistance and food insecurity.
Two training program sessions will be offered via KAMI 4.0 in March (participants should only select one session). Please note that interested participants must register by the Friday before the week training starts.
