New players added to Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball roster for the 2016-17 season include twin sisters Sydney and Taylor Macomber, of Scotts.
The Macomber sisters, 2016 graduates of Climax-Scotts High School, signed National Letters of Intent this spring to play women’s basketball at KCC and will begin playing for the Bruins this season.
Sydney Macomber was an All-Conference Honorable Mention player in women’s basketball at Climax-Scotts her sophomore and junior years. Taylor Macomber was an Associated Press All-State Honorable Mention player in women’s basketball at Climax-Scotts her senior year and an All-Conference Honorable Mention her sophomore and junior years
Both student-athletes also earned Battle Creek Enquirer All-Area Softball Team and other honors as softball players and Academic All-State honors as volleyball players while at Climax-Scotts.
“The twins are a great pair of athletes,” said Kyle Klingaman, head coach of KCC’s women’s basketball team. “They played many sports in high school and will bring lots of energy to the team.”
KCC’s women’s basketball team begins scrimmaging in October. The team’s first official game of the season will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, against Sinclair Community College at the Miller Gym on campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
