Three Kellogg Community College volleyball players have received postseason awards from the Michigan Community College Athletic Association for their play during the 2017 season.
Postseason MCCAA award winners from KCC’s women’s volleyball team this season (pictured above from left to right) include:
- Sophomore Kimberly Kusler, a Harper Creek High School graduate from Battle Creek, earned MCCAA Second Team All-Conference honors
- Sophomore Hannah Landis, a Three Rivers High School graduate from Three Rivers, earned MCCAA All-Region, All-MCCAA and First-Team All-Conference honors
- Freshman Rose Tecumseh, a Lakeview High School graduate from Battle Creek, earned MCCAA All-Freshman Team and Second Team All-Conference honors
KCC’s women’s volleyball team had a banner season under third-year Head Coach Tom VanWienen this fall, ending the season earlier this month at the National Junior College Athletic Association regional tournament – the first time in more than a decade that the Bruins have qualified to compete in the postseason. The Bruins ended the season with a winning 21-10 record overall and a 10-6 record in their MCCAA Western Conference.
