Kellogg Community College’s Lifelong Learning Department has just released its spring schedule of classes and will move them to KCC’s main campus.
The program offers classes that have no homework, no tests and no grades for members of the community who are age 16 or older. Beginning in March, the Lifelong Learning classes will be held in the Lane-Thomas and Ohm buildings on the College’s campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
In those classes you will find students making their own mozzarella cheese, doing yoga or tai chi, welding metal into art, finding the perfect shot through a camera lens, learning the history of henna tattoos and more.
The complete schedule of classes is available online at www.kellogg.edu/lifelong.
Lifelong Learning Secretary Abbie Brennan said some of the most popular classes include beekeeping, photography and fitness. New classes feature topics such as infant massage (and you can bring your baby), beginning acoustic guitar and guidance on the ketogenic diet.
Brennan shared that many of the classes are popular because of the entertainment they offer; many of the classes are the same time commitment that it takes to see a movie.
“We offer a broad range of topics every semester, and that’s designed to provide classes on subjects that members of the community might be interested in learning more about,” Lifelong Learning Director Mary Green said. “For example, our students have told us they like coming to our yoga classes because it’s less intimidating than going to a gym.”
Classes range from one-time sessions of two to three hours to multiweek programs. Now, for the first time, Lifelong Learning classes are available for registration online at www.kellogg.edu/register-for-classes.
Registration is also available by:
- Mailing the registration form found in the schedule of classes online at www.kellogg.edu/lifelong with payment to Lifelong Learning, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, MI, 49017.
