Open auditions for Kellogg Community College’s Opera Workshop ensemble presentation of “The Marriage of Figaro” will be held Aug. 31 on campus in Battle Creek.
Auditions are open to students and non-students alike and will take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, in the auditorium of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center on campus at 450 North Avenue.
There are a variety of roles available for women and men 16 years of age and older; singers selected for roles in the production will rehearse from 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays from Sept. 7 until the public presentation of the opera Dec. 7 and 8.
Individuals interesting in auditioning should prepare a classical song in any language that demonstrates their vocal and dramatic abilities. An accompanist will be available, though singers are encouraged to bring their own if possible. Performers who wish to use KCC’s accompanist should email their audition materials to Dr. Gerald Case-Blanchard at blanchardg@kellogg.edu on or before Friday, Aug. 17.
Individuals accepted for principal roles in the ensemble must register for the KCC course MUSI C297-01.
