Estate Planning & Trusts: What You Need to Know
6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April. 29
$25 (member), $35 (non-member)
Most people don’t like to think about dying, but it is something that everyone has to face. What will happen to the money you worked hard to save? Who will get your house, your car, or your jewelry?
Most people put off planning their estate, but putting off these decisions can cost your heirs considerable money and anguish. In order to ensure that your wishes about who should get what are heeded and that costs and inconveniences of probate and estate taxes are avoided after your death, it is critical to do estate planning now.
This workshop will help you understand the types of estate planning moves that are most likely to be helpful for many people. Proper estate planning takes a relatively short time and will give you and your heirs tremendous peace of mind. With estate planning, you can make sure your medical and business decisions can be made by someone you trust if incapacity strikes — without court interference and with as little disruption as possible to your loved ones.
Join a local estate planning attorney as you learn the most important aspects of this often daunting topic.
NOTE: Your class fee includes bringing a guest if you’d like; please provide their name at registration.
Retirement Strategies to Plan for 100
6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 13
$25 (member), $35 (non-member)
Will you live to 100? While living a long life was once relegated to a lucky few, today it’s increasingly becoming the norm, thanks to medical advances and healthier lifestyles. As you think about your future and plan for retirement, it’s important to recognize that life expectancy is a midpoint, not an endpoint.
In this class we’ll examine a variety of ways to make your money last throughout your entire retirement, along with the five risks associated with retirement: longevity, health care, retirement planning, estate planning and investment planning.
NOTE: Your class fee includes bringing a guest if you’d like; please provide their name at registration.
Estate Planning for Now … and for Later
10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 18
$19 (member), $25 (non-member)
Everyone wants to know, “Who will take care of my personal business when I can’t do it myself anymore?” and “What happens to my stuff when I pass away?” Learn the answers to these questions, as well as others you may not have considered yet.
If you don’t have the proper paperwork in place before getting ill or injured, things may not go smoothly when it becomes necessary for someone else to take care of you (or your belongings) the way you would want them to.
