The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team won at its latest away game 77-67 against Lake Michigan College on Wednesday.
Leading for the Bruins were sophomore Jess Genier (Lakeview), who had 25 points and 4 assists; freshman Audrey DeWaters (Gull Lake), who had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots; and sophomore Brianna Abercrombie (Pennfield), who had 13 points and 7 rebounds.
“Four wins in a row for the Lady Bruins,” said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian. “We had a great first half then did what was needed down the stretch to get a nice road win to stay in 3rd place in the Western Conference. Saturday we host first-place Mid-Michigan, who we beat at their place earlier this season, at 1 p.m. Go Lady Bruins!”
The Bruins’ recent win brings the team’s overall season record so far to 16-9; the team’s conference record is 9-4.
The team’s next match is home at 1 p.m Saturday, Feb. 8. The Bruins face the first-place conference opponent Mid-Michigan Community College. The game will be held at the Miller Gym located on campus in Battle Creek. Admission to all KCC athletic events is free.
