New and transferring college students will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from more than 60 educational institutions, academic departments and community organizations during Kellogg Community College’s annual College Night in November.
The KCC-sponsored event, which is free and open to the public, will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, via an online EventHub portal that will be linked from the College Night web page at kellogg.edu/collegenight.
During the event, prospective students can simply visit the web page and click on the link of the school they would like more information about. Attendees can then gather information and materials online without assistance or can speak virtually with a rep from their selected organizations.
KCC generally hosts a College Night event in person each year in Battle Creek; to help mitigate the continuing spread of COVID-19, this will be the first year the event is held virtually.
“College Night is a great opportunity for high school students, parents, families, current KCC students and community members to gather information about educational organizations and schools,” KCC Admissions Director Jennifer Kotowski said.
The event offers a unique opportunity for area students to connect with the schools they’re considering at one time, in one place, where students can ask questions, gather materials and make comparisons without having to schedule multiple meetings throughout the state.
This year’s event will include representatives from nearly every major college and university in the state, as well as representatives from various branches of the U.S. military. Representatives from nearly two dozen academic departments at KCC, as well as from the Battle Creek Community Foundation and the Legacy Scholars program, will also be available.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with a number of organizations and departments offering educational scholarships.
