After last Friday’s results, Kellogg Community College’s men’s bowling team is ranked first in the team’s Michigan Community College Athletic Association’s Western Conference.
KCC finished in fourth place Friday, Jan. 28, at the Schoolcraft College Invitational in Livonia, with an overall team score of 4,411. The first-place winner was Mid Michigan College with a team score of 4,597.
Leading scorers for KCC were freshman Robert Burns III (Marshall/Marshall High School), who placed second with a series score of 655 and a single game score of 224; freshman Bryan Foote (Bronson/Bronson High School), who bowled the high game of the day with a 265; freshman Zach Barker (Charlotte/Olivet High School), who placed fourth with a series score of 629 and a single game of 224; and freshman Jacob Bax (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School), who bowled a 202.
Head KCC Bowling Coach Brad Morgan said the team continues to improve.
“The Bruins found themselves competing for a chance to win after a strong singles set featuring a 1,085 single game total in the second game,” Morgan said. “Robert Burns III led the team with a second-place finish in series with a 655. Bryan Foote brought home the award for high game with a 265. The shot making fell off some during the Baker set. We look to continue to improve and find ways to compete as we finish up our conference season in the next few weeks.”
