- The Midland Daily News posted an article titled “Mayle pitches brilliantly as Berryhill tops Ohio, 1-0” that highlights the recent performance of Kellogg Community College pitcher Chad Mayle while playing for Berryhill Post 165’s baseball team. “Chad Mayle has waited three years to be ‘the dude’ for Midland Berryhill Post 165’s baseball team,” the article says. “Saturday’s performance was certainly worth the wait. Mayle pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Berryhill to a 1-0 win over Pickerington (Ohio) in a winners’ bracket semifinal at the American Legion Baseball Great Lakes Regional at Northwood University.” Among Mayle’s quotes in the article: “One of the things that our coach at Kellogg (Community College) taught us was that there’s always a way out (of a jam). You try different things — you try a pickoff here or there, try (having the catcher) throwing behind the runner — and there’s always a way out. I went in with that mindset and figured I had to find some way to get out of the jams.”
