Kellogg Community College’s Branch County Community Chorus will present its annual “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert the first Saturday in December in Coldwater.
The concert, titled “Joy, Joy, Joy!” will begin at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 E. Chicago St. The event is free and open to the public, though a freewill donation will be collected to support upcoming music initiatives at the College.
A pre-concert singalong will invite audience members to sing holiday favorites accompanied by the Cereal City Brass Company, directed by Eric Campbell, with organist Katharine Cary.
The concert program will include nearly two dozen holiday selections, from lesser-known classical pieces to well-known favorites like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire),” with the program closing on a rousing rendition of “Joy to the World.”
In addition to the Cereal City Brass Company, special guests will include the Concentus Vocal Ensemble, the KCC Choral Union and the Kellogg Singers. The latter three groups as well as the BCCC will be directed by Dr. Gerald J. Case-Blanchard, director of vocal music and Music Area coordinator at KCC, with accompanist Nancy D. Brown.
All audience members are invited to join the performers for a festive cookie and punch reception in the St. Mark’s fellowship hall following the concert.
