The application period for Kellogg Community College’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Program beginning in the Summer 2025 semester is open now, with a deadline of Feb. 1.
Program classes for those accepted into the program begin in May.
KCC’s MRI Program prepares graduates for certification to become MRI technologists qualified to use powerful magnetic fields, radio waves and computers to create digital images to assist patient diagnosis in hospitals, physician offices and diagnostic imaging centers.
MRI Program course instruction is offered primarily online, with students gaining hands-on experience via clinical work done onsite in the MRI departments of affiliating hospitals, clinics or other MRI provider facilities.
Completion of KCC’s MRI Program results in an Associate in Applied Science degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and makes graduates eligible to take the MRI certification exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), through which they can earn nationally recognized professional credentials.
KCC’s MRI Program is offered through a partnership with other Michigan community colleges through the Educational Programs in Collaboration (EPiC) Consortium. Traditional coursework is offered in an online format and clinical education is provided off campus at one of approximately three dozen clinical sites in Michigan.
Admission to KCC’s MRI Program is competitive, and just five students are admitted each year. This year’s application period opened Nov. 1.
