KCC Dental Hygiene students hosting Dental Dash 5K on campus to raise funds for oral health initiatives

The Kellogg Community College chapter of the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association is hosting a 5K run event this month to raise funds for club initiatives and projects to help improve oral health in the community.

The Dental Dash 5K fun run and walk will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 31, on the Spring Lake trail on the north side of KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. Advance registration for the self-timed event is $25 for KCC students and $30 for the general public and can be completed online at https://app.dvforms.net/api/dv/o8wzwy.

All registered participants for the self-timed race will receive a race T-shirt, a ticket for a free cleaning at KCC’s Dental Hygiene Clinic and an oral care goodie bag.

Same-day registration starts at 8 a.m. the day of and is an additional $5, bringing the cost to $30 for KCC students and $35 for the general public, and shirts aren’t necessarily guaranteed for day-of registrants.

The run/walk event will take place on campus, primarily around the Spring Lake Loop of the Linear Park trail.

Those who can’t make the run but would like to support the cause can donate without registering via the registration link.
