Kellogg Community College Theatre and What A Do Theatre this month will help audiences ring in the season with a nostalgic comedic musical celebrating all things holiday.
The two companies will present “Holiday Inn” beginning Nov. 13. Featuring music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, the musical is based on the 1942 film of the same name starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. The production is perhaps best known for its song “White Christmas,” which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1943.
The plot centers on an entertainer who leaves show business to settle down at a farmhouse in Connecticut, where he meets a talented schoolteacher. Together, they transform the property into an inn featuring performances celebrating all the major holidays.
“Holiday Inn” marks the second full collaboration between the theatre companies, following their 2025 production of the musical “Into the Woods.”
A cast of nearly two dozen actors will perform in the show, which will play over two weekends at the following times:
- 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13
- 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14
- 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15
- 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20
- 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21
- 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22
All performances will be held at the Binda Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek.
Tickets are $10 for students, KCC employees, seniors and members of the U.S. military, and $15 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at kelloggcommunitycollege.ludus.com or at the door before each performance as supplies last.
