Elizabeth Jarrard of Pennfield has signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the team during the fall 2013 season.
Jarrard was a varsity starter at Pennfield High School since her freshman year and a team captain for three years. She holds a Michigan High School Athletic Association record for scoring 35 goals during her freshman season and was awarded MVP, All-City, All-Conference, and All-District honors for three years. She was awarded All-State Honorable Mention and All-Region honors for two years.
Jarrard, who scored 81 goals during her high school career, was also twice named Athlete of the Week by the Battle Creek Enquirer.
“Elizabeth comes to our program with great club experience, playing two years in Super Y as a captain, playing in the nationals and Olympic Development Program nationals while also helping her Premier 1 team win a championship,” said Barth Beasley, head coach of the women’s soccer team at KCC. “In getting to know her during the recruiting process as a student-athlete I got to see her enthusiasm and drive to make a difference in her life and others’ off the field.”
