Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball coaches and student-athletes will lead two sessions of summer Volleyball Skills Camps for Girls in July.
Each camp session will include intensive training covering volleyball fundamentals, team systems and offense/defense strategies. Campers will be placed in groups of similar skill level to ensure the most improvement, challenge and fun during the camp experience.
Available camp sessions, each to be held at the Miller Gymnasium on KCC’s North Avenue campus, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, include:
Session 1: All Skill Levels, Grades 5-12 ($125)
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, July 22-25
Session 1 campers will develop the skills necessary to play at a higher level, with a focus on passing, serving, setting and attacking.
Session 2: Advanced Skill Level, Grades 7-12 ($125)
9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, July 29-Aug. 1
Session 2 campers will prepare for their upcoming tryouts, with an emphasis on passing, serving, serve receive and specific positions including attacker, setter and defensive specialist.
Campers should arrive dressed to play volleyball – wearing gym shoes, shorts and a T-shirt – and should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch each day. Each camper must have a release for medical treatment and a waiver of liability completed by a parent or legal guardian prior to the camp registration deadline.
Registration forms and waivers can be viewed, downloaded and printed from www.scribd.com/KelloggCC.
Participants must register for camp by Wednesday, July 17, by faxing registration forms and waivers to 269-962-2215 or by mailing them with payment to the Kellogg Community College Athletic Department, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek, MI. 49017.
