Kellogg Community College has again been recognized as being among the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the nation which support U.S. veterans.
According to the latest list of Military Friendly Schools recognized by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs Magazine, KCC is among those “doing the most to embrace military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.”
This marks the fifth consecutive year KCC has been included on the list, which this year includes more than 1,860 institutions.
John Di Pierro, director of Institutional Facilities and Public Safety at KCC and secretary of the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee, said the designation reaffirms to the community how committed the college is to veterans and to encouraging them to continue their education.
“For veterans, KCC is a place where they can come and get complete support,” Di Pierro said. “It’s a community that is welcoming to them and helps them meet their educational goals.”
The latest Military Friendly Schools designation comes on the heels of the first year of the college’s VetSuccess on Campus program, which is hosted in conjunction with Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University to provide additional veteran support on each campus.
