The Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball team played hard at home on Thursday but ultimately fell to conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College in three sets of 15-25, 16-25 and 19-25, respectively.
Freshman Tristen Ehredt, of Battle Creek, had seven kills and four digs; freshman Lauren Richardson, of Coloma, had five kills and two block assists; freshman Rebecca Browning, of Rockwood, had four kills and one block assist; freshman Carmen O’Dell, of Marshall, had seven digs; and sophomore Cortney Pipher, of Battle Creek, had two kills, 20 assists, one block assist and one solo block.
The loss brings the Bruins’ MCCAA Western Conference record to 2-6; their overall record for the season so far is 4-14. The team plays next beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, against conference opponent Kalamazoo Valley Community College at home in the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus.
