Kellogg Community College will remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States armed forces with a Memorial Day Celebration Thursday, May 22.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at noon in the Student Center on the KCC campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. The ceremony will include the presentation and retiring of colors, as well as patriotic music and presentations by KCC students and members of the College’s Student Veterans Project.
Retired Air Force Maj. Reba M. Harrington, secretary of the KCC Board of Trustees, will be the keynote speaker at the event, while KCC President Dr. Dennis Bona will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and KCC’s Director of Institutional Facilities and Public Safety John Di Pierro, a retired Air Force colonel, will serve as master of ceremonies.
The event will conclude at approximately 1:10 p.m. with the laying of a commemorative wreath.
KCC will be closed on Monday, May 26, which is Memorial Day.
