KCC athletes earn academic honors from the MCCAA

Nearly two dozen Kellogg Community College student-athletes and two KCC athletic teams have been recognized by the Michigan Community College Athletic Association for their academic success over the course of the 2012-13 academic year.

Twenty-three student-athletes received MCCAA Academic All-Conference honors, which requires a minimum 3.0 GPA earned through the completion of at least 36 credits. Sixteen of those athletes also received MCCAA Academic All-MCCAA honors, which requires a minimum 3.2 GPA earned through the completion of at least 36 credits.

Additionally, KCC’s baseball and softball teams were recognized as MCCAA Academic Teams, a designation that requires a team GPA of at least 3.0. The college’s baseball team had a team GPA this year of 3.2 while its softball team had a team GPA of 3.02.

In addition to the MCCAA honors, KCC’s baseball and softball teams and four Bruins baseball players – Carlile, Mayle, Moore and Miller – were recognized for academic achievement by the National Junior College Athletic Association earlier this month.
