KCC's 2017-18 women's basketball team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball team lost its latest away game 54-50 to conference opponent Lansing Community College.

Leading the Bruins on the court were Destiny Kincaide (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy), who had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists; Dareka Clayton (Battle Creek/Battle Creek Central), who had 13 points and 11 rebounds; and Sarah Gwinn (Jackson/Jackson Northwest), who had 10 points and 17 rebounds.

“Our best effort yet, to come up just four points short on the road to a team that beat us by 50 at our place says everything about this team,” Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “Please join us for our season finale this Wednesday at 5:30 versus Glen Oaks as we celebrate Sophomore Night to honor our five sophomores: Sarah Gwinn, Kimi Rook, Dareka Clayton, Sydney Macomber and Bre Eddy. Go Bruins!”

The Bruins’ next and last game for the 2017-18 season starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, against conference opponent Glen Oaks Community College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
