Kayla Freeman of Battle Creek has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women’s basketball at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the Bruins next season.

In her four years playing for Battle Creek Central, Freeman was named to All-Area and All-City teams and the All-SMAC First Team in addition to being an All-State Honorable Mention. Her latest stats show Freeman contributed 14.3 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and three assists per game.

Kyle Klingaman, head coach of the women’s basketball team at KCC, said Freeman will be a valuable addition to the Bruins next season.

“Kayla is an outstanding ball player in every aspect of the game,” Klingaman said. “She will be a vital asset to our program with the leadership abilities she displayed in her four years at Battle Creek Central.”
