Kellogg Community College alumnus Chad Mayle, a right-handed pitcher for the Bruins baseball team for the past two years, has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Baseball All-American.
Mayle, who last month was named Michigan Community College Athletic Association Player of the Year in addition to making the MCCAA’s All-Region XII Team, All-MCCAA 1st Team and Region XII All-Tournament Team, was named an NJCAA First-Team All-American.
Mayle, of Midland, attended Herbert Henry Dow High School and completed 57 credit hours over three semesters at KCC, earning a 3.9 GPA while pursing an Associate of Science degree. He was named KCC’s Outstanding Male Scholar Athlete 2013 during the college’s annual Awards Banquet last month.
Mayle has accepted a full scholarship to Western Michigan University and will be pitching for the Broncos next season as he continues his studies as a biomedical sciences major.
Congratulations Chad!
Mayle is among a half dozen members of the latest Bruins baseball team who have committed to play for Division I schools for the 2013-14 season so far.
