Kellogg Community College will celebrate 51 years of nursing education with a second annual Nursing Alumni Picnic from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.
The event will celebrate the history of Nursing Program at KCC and will commemorate admission of the 51st class of students to the program this fall. It will take place on the lawn on the north side of the college’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek.
Tonie McMaster, assistant director of nursing education at KCC, said anyone who graduated from the college’s Nursing Program is invited to attend for a free lunch and to reunite with other nurses who got their start at KCC.
“KCC wants to continue the recognition and celebration of the many RN alumni from the past by hosting another alumni picnic,” McMaster said. “Last year’s picnic was a great way to reminisce and reconnect with fellow nursing colleagues, and we’re excited to do it again.”
In addition to lunch, the event will include tours of the college’s nursing education facilities, including the nursing simulation labs, the skills labs and classrooms. Also on hand will be representatives from various educational institutions to provide information about advanced nursing education.
The event is free and casual and no RSVP is required. For more information, contact Jayme McHale at mchalej@kellogg.edu.
