Spring 2014 registration begins Oct. 28, but you don’t have to wait until registration opens to see an adviser to talk about your classes. Visit KCC’s Academic Advising Web page at www.kellogg.edu/advising to view advising hours and contact information, and see an adviser before registration opens so you can register as early as possible!

Here are some reminders of upcoming events related to Kellogg Community College.

Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 14, 2013:

  • Photographer Christopher Schneberger’s exhibit “Glimmer: The Haunting of the Graham House” opens at KCC on Monday, Oct. 14, and will remain on display through Friday, Nov. 8, in the college’s Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Gallery in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. The exhibit will be free and open to the public for viewing during exhibit hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013:

  • KCC’s Student Life office will open its 2013-14 Coffeehouse Concert Series with a performance by Kalamazoo singer-songwriter Micaela Kingslight from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the newly renovated Student Center on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.   • An informational meeting for individuals considering participating in KCC’s international travel trip to Europe next spring will begin at 2 p.m. in room 207 of the Severin Building on KCC’s North Avenue campus. Click here for more information about the trip from a post on this blog.
  • KCC’s Regional Manufacturing Technology Center will host an Open House from 3 to 7 p.m at the Battle Creek facility, located at 405 Hill Brady Road. The open house will include a ribbon-cutting at 3 p.m. by the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce, demonstrations of the cutting-edge technology inside the RMTC, faculty-led presentations and information about company partnerships and course registration.  Click here for more information from a post on this blog.
  • KCC’s women’s volleyball team plays at home against conference opponent Muskegon Community College beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013:

  • Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 9 to 11 a.m. in the central walkway of KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.
  • An Opening Reception for photographer Christopher Schneberger’s exhibit “Glimmer: The Haunting of the Graham House,” which will include a lecture from the artist, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Davidson Auditorium on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. The exhibit will remain on display at the college through Friday, Nov. 8. The event, like the exhibit, is free and open to the public.
  • KCC’s women’s soccer team plays against conference opponent Muskegon Community College beginning at 4 p.m. in Muskegon. For more information about the women’s soccer team, visit www.kellogg.edu/athletics/soccer/index.html.

  • Davenport University will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the central walkway of KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18, 2013:

  • KCC will host a free Transfer Tour of Grand Valley State University departing from KCC’s North Avenue campus at 9 a.m. The tour will include transportation to and from GVSU from KCC’s North Avenue campus, lunch, a campus tour of GVSU and a GVSU admissions presentation.   • The run of “The Nerd,” KCC’s fall play, continues with a performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Binda Theatre on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013:

  • KCC’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society leaves at 7:30 a.m. for a trip to Cedar Point. The group should return by 9:30 p.m.
  • KCC’s women’s soccer team plays against conference opponent Muskegon Community College beginning at 1 p.m. at home on the soccer field next to the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.   • The fall satisfactory academic progress (SAP) deadline for financial aid students is Friday, Nov. 1. For more information, visit www.kellogg.edu/financial.
  • Future college students will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from nearly 70 institutions and organizations during KCC’s annual Calhoun County College Night, scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at Kellogg Arena, 1 McCamly Square, Battle Creek. The event is free and open to the public.
  • The priority processing deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students applying for financial aid to attend KCC for the Spring 2014 semester is Friday, Nov. 15. By submitting the FAFSA with correct and complete information by this date, students allow for adequate processing time in order to determine financial aid eligibility by the beginning of the spring semester.   • The priority processing deadline (all documents submitted) for students applying for financial aid to attend KCC for the Spring 2014 semester is Friday, Nov. 29.
