Just two days after splitting a doubleheader with Glen Oaks Community College, the Bruins of the Kellogg Community College baseball team annihalated the Vikings 21-1.
The game, played in Centreville on Monday, March 31, saw freshman infielder Chad Carson (Attica Township/Lapeer East High School) hit six-for-six at the plate, including two doubles and four RBIs. Freshman outfielder Connor Owen (Richland/Gull Lake High School) hit three in five at-bats, including three RBIs, while freshman infielder Travis Bolin (Watervliet/Watervliet High School) hit three-for-four with a double and two RBIs.
Freshman right-hander Hayden Robbins (St. Clair/St. Clair High School) pitched five innings for the win, striking out four. Sophomore right-hander Kameron Joostberns (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) pitched two innings, striking out one.
KCC bests Lake Michigan 19-5
For the second straight day, a KCC Bruin hit six-for-six from the plate.
Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Steve Remesnik (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll High School) hit a thousand for the day with three RBIs in the Bruins’ 19-5 victory over Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor on Tuesday, April 1. Freshman infielder Alex Holley (Vicksburg/Vicksburg High School) and freshman catcher/outfielder Alex Goodwin (Midland/Midland High School) each hit four-for-seven, with Holley hitting two RBIs and Goodwin hitting one RBI and two doubles.
Sophomore right-hander Tyler Kirkland (Sault Ste. Marie/Sault Area High School) pitched four innings for the win, striking out three.
