Five paralegal students inducted into LEX honor society

Paralegal students inducted into the LEX honor society in 2014.

Five Kellogg Community College Paralegal Program students were inducted May 9 into the KCC chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX), a national paralegal honor society.

The inductees, recognized during a ceremony in the Kellogg Room on KCC’s North Avenue campus, include:

  • Desiree L. Belote, of Hillsdale
  • Arletha Holder, of Battle Creek
  • Donna D. Street, of Bellevue
  • Jennifer L. Tylutki, of Springfield
  • Carrie A. Williams, of Delton

Speakers at the LEX induction ceremony included KCC Paralegal Professor and LEX Faculty Advisor Susan McCabe, KCC Board of Trustees member Jill Booth, and Prosecuting Attorney David Gilbert, who delivered the keynote address.

To become members of LEX at KCC, students must have been enrolled in the College’s Paralegal Program, have had a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and have had two-thirds of their paralegal degree or certificate program requirements completed at the time of induction.

The ceremony was the second LEX induction in the history of the College’s Paralegal Program; the College announced in August 2013 that the program will be discontinued following the Summer 2014 semester.
