Right-handed pitcher Tate Brawley, of Niles, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the Bruins next season.
Brawley, a graduate of Niles High School, was an All-Conference pitcher his sophomore, junior and senior years and was All-District and All-Region his junior year, when he finished the season 7-1 with a 2.00 ERA. Brawley also earned All-Conference basketball honors his junior and senior years.
Eric Laskovy, head baseball coach at KCC, said Brawley has the skill set to have an immediate positive impact on the program.
“He projects well and is a tremendous competitor,” Laskovy said. “We are thrilled to welcome him to the Bruin family.”
KCC’s Bruins finished second in the National Junior College Athletic Association regional tournament earlier this month after finishing third in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association with a 17-9 conference record.
