Kellogg Community College’s women’s volleyball team ended its seven-game winning streak Tuesday with a four-set loss to conference rival Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Kalamazoo.
KVCC’s Cougars took set one 25-18, set three 25-20 and set four 25-19. The Bruins took set two 25-21.
Head KCC Volleyball Coach Tom VanWienen said the Bruins came out slow and KVCC did a great job with high energy on their side of the net.
“We got it going in game two, but just didn’t have enough against a very scrappy KVCC team,” VanWienen said. “We have a another big game at home on Thursday and will get back after it in the gym tomorrow.”
The loss brings the Bruins’ record for the season so far to 7-1 and their conference record to 3-1.
The Bruins play next at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, against conference opponent Glen Oaks Community College at home at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
