The third and final Bruins Give Back volunteer service event of Kellogg Community College’s Fall 2017 semester will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 1, at three locations in Battle Creek, including two Habitat for Humanity sites.

A campus-wide service initiative of the College’s Service-Learning office, Bruins Gives Back brings KCC students and employees together in service through volunteering at locations in and around Battle Creek. Volunteers for the Dec. 1 event can choose to serve at one of the following locations:

  • The Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where volunteers will help prepare and organize donations for Christmas.
  • A Habitat for Humanity build site, where volunteers will help with general labor tasks such as painting, small home repairs, cleaning, etc.
  • KCC’s Regional Manufacturing Technology Center campus, where volunteers will help prepare the lights for Binder Park Zoo’s ZooLights holiday displays.

Bruins Give Back is held from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays up to three times per semester, and past events have been located at elementary schools, community gardens and at various locations on campus at KCC, to name a few.

All KCC students and employees are invited to serve at this and future Bruins Give Back events, and can sign up online via the form available at https://goo.gl/forms/xID5LYgnfFg6Y0i13. All volunteers will get a free Bruins Give Back T-shirt to keep and wear during the event.
