The Kellogg Community College baseball team continued its winning streak Wednesday with a two-game sweep against Concordia University’s JV team at home at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.

Wednesday, March 28, Game 1: KCC 13, Concordia 3
KCC baseball defeated Concordia 13-3 in the first game of their afternoon doubleheader Wednesday.
On offense for the Bruins, freshman infielder Brandon Haynes (Climax/Climax-Scotts High School) hit 3-3 at the plate, with two RBIs. Sophomore catcher Korey Knowles (Monroe/Ida High School) hit 2-3 at the plate, including an RBI.
At the mound, left-handed sophomore Connor Myers (Rudyard/Rudyard High School) got the win with 1.2 innings pitched and allowed zero runs.
Wednesday, March 28, Game 2: KCC 9, Concordia 1
In game two Wednesday, KCC defeated Concordia 9-1.
On offense for the Bruins, sophomore outfielder Raphe Gross (Chicago/Simeon Career Academy) hit 3-3 at the plate, including an RBI, and stole a base.
At the mound, right-handed sophomore Max Swan (Clare/Clare High School) got the win in 4.2 innings pitched, allowing just two hits and one earned run.
The recent wins bring the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 15-4; their conference record still stands at a perfect 4-0.
The team plays today at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, against Adrian College’s JV team in Adrian, then plays Mott Community College starting at 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, in Flint. The team’s next home game starts at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, against conference opponent Lake Michigan College at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.
