The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team won at its latest home game 71-56 against conference opponent Jackson College on Saturday.
Leading for the Bruins were sophomore Ron Jamierson, who had 17 points and 3 assists; freshman Dashaan palmer, who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals; freshman Eddie Wesley, with 16 points; sophomore Jamari Thomas-Newell; who had 12 points and 6 rebounds and freshman Larry Patrick with 8 rebounds.
“Using a full court press KCC jumped out to a quick lead which they held the entire game.” Said Men’s Head Basketball Coach Gary Sprague. “The defense forced 20 turnovers and had 14 steals. Jackson was held to just a 33% shooting from the field.”
The recent win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 6-12; the team’s conference record is 3-4.
The teams plays next in Grand Rapids starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, against Grand Rapids Community College.
