The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team lost its latest away game 75-62 against Jackson College on Saturday.
Leading for the Bruins were sophomore Jess Genier, who had 29 points and 7 rebounds, and sophomore Brianna Abercrombie, who had 10 points and 7 rebounds.
“We fall into fifth place with the loss in our quest to host a first-round game in the Western Conference tournament,” said Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian. “We are at home for our final two regular season games, hosting Grand Rapids at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, then taking on Ancilla at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, on Sophomore Night. Go Bruins!”
The Bruins’ recent loss brings the team’s overall season record so far to 15-12; the team’s conference record is 9-7.
The team’s next game is tonight, Feb. 24, against Grand Rapids Community College, starting at 5:30 p.m. The game will be held at the Miller Gym located on the North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Admission to all home KCC athletic events is free.
