The Kellogg Community College chapter of the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association is hosting a 5K run event this month to raise funds for club initiatives and projects to help improve oral health in the community.
The Dental Dash 5K fun run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20, in front of the Dental Hygiene Clinic entrance on the north side of KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek. Advance registration for the self-timed event is $25 for KCC students and $30 for the general public and can be completed online at https://app.donorview.com/RpNG7.
All registered participants will receive a race T-shirt, a ticket for a free cleaning at KCC’s Dental Hygiene Clinic and an oral care goodie bag.
Race check-in and same-day registration will begin onsite at 8 a.m. The same-day registration fee is $30 for KCC students and $35 for the general public.
The run/walk event will take place on campus, primarily around the Spring Lake Loop of the Linear Park trail. The event is organized by the KCC SADHA chapter under the leadership of group member Aimar Ramirez.
“Through our College’s efforts, we have already made a significant impact on the community by providing affordable cleaning services to hundreds of people who would otherwise have gone without care,” Ramirez said. “We have also raised awareness about the importance of oral health and the need for affordable care. By registering for our 5K event or donating, you can help us continue our work and improve the oral health of those in our communities. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that everyone has access to quality oral health care.”
Those who can’t make the run but would like to support the cause can donate without registering via the registration link.
