Eight Kellogg Community College baseball players earned postseason Michigan Community College Athletic Association and/or National Junior College Athletic Association awards for their performance on the field this past season, and Head KCC Baseball Coach Eric Laskovy was again named MCCAA Western Conference Coach of the Year.
KCC’s MCCAA and NJCAA postseason baseball award winners include:
- Sophomore infielder/outfielder Aidan Arbogast (Livonia/Adlai E. Stevenson High School), NJCAA Division II Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA First Team All-Western Conference
- Freshman pitcher Gavin Beuter (Three Rivers/IMG Academy), All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA First Team All-Western Conference, MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team
- Sophomore pitcher Kane Elmy (Canton/Plymouth High School), NJCAA Division II Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA First Team All-Western Conference
- Freshman catcher Diego Pena (Muskegon/Mona Shores High School), MCCAA Honorable Mention All-Western Conference
- Freshman infielder Aaron Piasecki (Muskegon/Mona Shores High School), NJCAA Division II Region XII All-Region Team, All-MCCAA Team, MCCAA First Team All-Western Conference, MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team, MCCAA Western Conference Freshman of the Year
- Sophomore pitcher Jacob Spencer (Centreville/Centreville High School), MCCAA Honorable Mention All-Western Conference
- Sophomore infielder Brett Stanley, (Washington Township/De La Salle Collegiate High School), MCCAA First Team All-Western Conference
- Sophomore outfielder Noah Warren (Grand Ledge/Grand Ledge High School), MCCAA Second Team All-Western Conference
Additionally, Head KCC Baseball Coach Eric Laskovy shares MCCAA Western Conference Coach of the Year honors with Head Kalamazoo Valley Community College Baseball Coach Steve Bennecke, which is Laskovy’s sixth consecutive MCCAA Western Conference Coach of the Year honor.
The KCC baseball team had another storied season this spring, finishing the year as MCCAA Western Conference champions and, for the second consecutive year, the NJCAA Region XII runner-up.
The team finished the season May 21 with a 38-12 record, including a 22-3 conference record and a perfect 15-0 record at home.
Head KCC Baseball Coach Eric Laskovy called it “a great season with many things to be proud of with this group of outstanding young men.”
