Submissions open for Mosaic student art and literary journal

A stack of issues of KCC's Mosaic art and literary journal.

Submissions are open for the December edition of KCC’s student art and literary journal Mosaic.

The deadline to submit written work is Oct. 18. The deadline to submit visual art is Nov. 18.

This edition’s theme is “response to the landscape around you.”

Submitting Art

Animation, Art, Graphic Design and Photography students are welcome and encouraged to submit visual art they have created during the Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters for consideration for publication in Mosaic. While all appropriate subject matter themes will be accepted, we have embraced a theme of “response to the landscape around you” for the next edition, thus students are encouraged to submit landscape images.

Students interested in the opportunity to have their visual art published in Mosaic should submit their entries and a completed Mosaic Art Entry Form to Photography and Multimedia Professor Ryan Flathau at flathaur@kellogg.edu. Please include “Mosaic submission” in the subject line of the email.

The deadline for art submissions is Nov. 18. The student Art League will adjudicate entries for Mosaic inclusion.

Prizes will be awarded for one cover and one interior art submission!

Learn more and see examples of past work on the student-run KCC Mosaic website.

Submitting Written Work

The next print issue of Mosaic will be released in December 2024. The theme for the issue, courtesy of United States Poet Laureate Ada Limón, is “What would you write in response to the landscape around you?”

Students are welcome to submit fiction, creative nonfiction or poetry. Work should be saved as .doc or .docx files and sent to English Professor Tom Webster at webstert@kellogg.edu by the submission deadline of Oct. 18.

Please include “Mosaic submission” in the subject line of the email.
